Licensed Psychologist
About Me
Hello. Thank you for the opportunity to tell you a little about myself. I am a Licensed Psychologist with over 25 years of clinical experience working with clients from a wide variety of diverse backgrounds and identities. I am a Colorado girl at heart and to this day, the mountains are my happy place. I received my bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. From there, I transitioned to the University of Oklahoma (Boomer Sooner!) where I received my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology and M.Ed. in Community Counseling.

I completed my predoctoral internship in Clinical Psychology from the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at San Antonio where I trained at multiple health related sites as a member of various multidisciplinary medical teams. After internship, I performed contract work providing psychological assessments for children in protective custody. As an early career psychologist, I was fortunate enough to be hired at Texas Woman’s University Counseling and Psychological Services where I have spent the last two decades of my career. I was promoted to Director of the center in 2009 and prior to that time served as the Assistant Director and Director of Training of an APA-accredited internship program for 11 years.
During my time at TWU, I gained extensive administrative, supervisory, and clinical experience. As a clinician I have in-depth knowledge of evidenced based clinical practice with individuals, couples, and groups. I have worked with adults across the lifespan on a multitude of complex presenting concerns as well as typical life concerns. I have a passion for working with individuals who have experienced various forms of childhood or adult trauma and have considerable experience and expertise in this area. I have trained dozens of interns and practicum students over the years and remain committed to mentoring new professionals. I also have considerable teaching experience having served for 7 years as an instructor of a clinical pre-practicum course at TWU along with several teaching appointments during my time as a graduate student. My background also includes years of public speaking experience including workshops and presentations on a wide array of preventative mental health topics, trauma recovery, ethics in clinical practice, diversity and inclusion, and management and leadership skills.

As your therapist, my main priority is creating a comfortable space where you feel free to let your guard down, be yourself, and laugh at life's ironies when the moment strikes. My hope is that you will find me to be down-to-earth, authentic, and intentional as we work together to address your concerns. I look forward to supporting you along your journey.

Warmly,
